Everglades Birding Tours

See the vast bird species of the Florida Everglades!

Everglades City & Chokoloskee Island are a birder’s paradise! We are located in the “4 Corners” section of the Everglades where Everglades National Park, 10,000 Islands National Wildlife Refuge, Fakahatcheee Strand State Preserve and Big Cypress National Preserve all meet. Our Everglades Birding Tours is designed to accommodate any interest levels.

Our Birding Tours typically include a combination of tours throughout the day with break for lunch.  Depending on the species you’re looking for we will start with an early morning Hike, Wilderness Drive and/or Kayak Tour.  After the morning tour you’ll have time to get lunch and explore Everglades City and Chokoloskee Island.  In the afternoon you’ll take a Motorboat Tour into the 10,000 Islands where you’ll see 100’s of birds returning to the mangrove islands to roost at sunset.

We Target Your Birds

Some of our guests are searching for a specific species or “Life Birds” on their list.  Some are new to birding and interested in learning about the Everglades bird population.  Since all our tours are private we can customize each tour to fit our guests.  We can take you deep in the wilderness, out to the islands and even around town to locate your birds!  Some of the species we encounter include the Pileated Woodpecker, Roseate Spoonbill, Mangrove Cuckoo, Harrier Hawk, Loggerhead Shrike, and even the Painted Bunting.

The best time to spot the birds is early morning and just before sunset so plan on a full day. We have found the best ways to spot these birds are on a walking tour, kayak, motorboat, or a drive into the wilderness. Most of our birding tours are approximately 6-7 hours and will be customized for your specific request. All birding tours are private with fresh fruit, cold water, and all your necessities provided (even binoculars). Email or give us a call with the birds you are looking for and we can decide the best way to get them.
